Original Paintings

   When I pause to study the abandoned things in our life, I'm often inspired to create a visual semblance of the resonance within me. Others may be urged in other ways such as with a poem, a song, writing, depicting descriptions of something neglected but not forgotten; revealing intuitive stories of a lapse of time, such as a tattered old house, or ancient tree, an old rusty truck, or the heartache of the passing years of the homeless.
   Acknowledging the contrast of these sometimes hidden narratives in which the present presents a dichotomy in the space of time, -- a confrontation between the natural world; and the mindset of man's will to make changes in it --one can discover the essence of humility and awareness. My intention and emphasis are to try to elevate these venerable things for the viewer's interest, which also gives me a sense of satisfaction knowing that I may have redirected someone's focus to appreciate the beauty or importance of timeworn things, nature ... and persons.
